Cleaned the raised bed, started more seeds and show some grow-room progress.

I put my free help to work and we started cleaning the bed.

Here we are reburying the soaker hose.

I moved a butterfly bush. This is half of it in its new location.
The other half is deeper in the woods and
near my path to my compost pile.

We stared some Tennis Ball Lettuce, Spinach,
and a couple Broccoli seeds in the container on the deck.

I upgraded the room to get the seeds closer to the light.
Yes that is a rope holding the light up... Don't judge.

Those sprouts are tomatoes.

$12 seed starting grow room.

I bought a full spectrum bulb to start some seeds.
The room is my furnace room. Hey!.. It's an experiment.

Garden Bed Blueprint.

I know a couple of you are planning on making new beds and/or inquiring on how I built my 12x4 garden bed.

It will be 2 years this April that I started gardening.
I figured I would share my original sketch of the bed.
The 4 inch posts are buried and everything is not pressure treated. I debated a lot on that topic. I used galvanized 8in. bolts to keep it together. I figured if one wall fell apart I can easily replace it.

One thing I did not do that I suggest is putting chicken wire (or something equivalent) along the bottom. This will keep out any rodents digging up from underneath. It won't be full proof but at least a deterrent. Luckily I haven't had any mole issues yet. I think it may be because underneath is a large rock spanning larger than my garden. I know this because I have an issue with putting the posts up for my fence. I can only dig 8 inches deep in some spots.

Get your seed starter kits ready and garden planners out. The new season is about to start!

Popped popcorn, and it was good.

In January I removed the dry kernels from the cobs. This past week
we enjoyed a 1 large bowl of popcorn. The Kernals popped smaller than normal
bu there was something a little more 'fresh' about them that made them taste great.

Sorry, no photos of the actual popped corn. We were too excited and ate it quickly.
